I have to admit that the week we were supposed to make our penny piggies I made the mistake of telling them we were doing it on Monday. Needless to say for one reason or another we didn't get to it until Wednesday and I'm pretty sure I got asked about 100 times between Monday and Wednesday if it was piggy time yet because they were so excited! They turned out pretty darn cute though!
Next up was actually EARNING thier money! They knew they had to buy thier items from me that they planned to sell at kinder mall and if they didn't have any money to buy items then they wouldn't have anything to sell. So ensues the two weeks of bribing with pennies for behavior! Let me tell you, best two weeks of behavior of the whole year! They worked hard for those pennies. By the end of the week they were ready to purchase thier goods to sell from me. There goods ranged from plastic rings, snakes, poppers OR they could choose to do a service such as give massages and they bought the massager from me or nail polish to do nails or even our tattoo artists who did wonderful tattoo work for a nice discounted price! When they bought their goods we discussed how much would be a good price to charge people for thier good or service. They then made thier signs and we got ready for the next day. Our final talk was on how it was important in life that you need to earn before you spend. If you wanted to go shop at other friends stores but didn't have any pennies left then that meant you needed to come back and earn more money. Also the importance of saving!
They were pumped the morning of kinder mall and they all did awesome! We had some great parents who were troopers when they may or may not of gotten a half of a tattoo done or part of thier finger painted with nail polish : )
I can tell you the kids will never forget kinder mall and have talked about it nonstop since!
