In science we did an awesome STEM project and lesson connecting to our gingerbread man activities. Our Beachers had to go through many steps, including making blueprints, designing and making a trap to catch our gingerbread men the next time they get loose! They had some pretty great ideas, but making them think even harder about how to actually make their plan come to fruition is the best part to watch.
Our first week was spent learning about each other, learning our rules and trying to start our daily schedule. As you may guess, kinder takes a little longer to get settled in and routines down pat than other grades, but we're chuggin' along! We learned about pictographs, using dice in math, science tools and how to start to "read" even if it means just looking at pictures. Now we are making our legendary gingerbread and will be on the hunt for them tomorrow! Our little foxes will get a tour around the school! We also get to finally meet our big buddies tomorrow! Also, thank you to all the Beacher Parents who gave us so many wonderful wish items! They are already loving them!
