We started our Alphabet Bootcamp Monday! Since school started, I've noticed we need a little bit more intensive "work out" on our letters, sounds, fine motor skills and handwriting so I decided to do an intensive workout with our letters! So for 26 days we will be doing a letter a day covering all of these skills to hopefully help our year run a little smoother! We are also talking about our STRONG vowels! Did you know vowels have muscles?! Ask your beacher if they can give you a word using a STRONG vowel! Cake, bow, bee, bike or how about a unicorn?! Those silly STRONG vowels can be confusing, so we're starting now to be STRONG vowel detectives!

Between math games with friends, learning about our 5 senses, our first week of homework and then ending the week with our Senses Fair you could say we had one jam packed week! Characters, setting, problems in the story, color the room, letters galore, number fun, math games....kindergarten is exhausting ; ) This week we continued working on procedures, routines and rules but we also had our traditional gingerbread hunt! Those sneaky gingerbread men get loose every year! We snuck around the school looking for them, all while having a tour of our school and meeting new faces! We finally caught them Friday morning and our Beachers enjoyed their sweet treat! Also this week, we got to meet our BIG BUDDIES!!! At our school, each kinder class has a fifth grade buddy class that we meet with all year. Each of our Beachers has their own "big" to learn from and look up to all year. It is such a great program! |
